The CEO of Flamengo’s Ouro Preto Holds Exploration Rights to 15 Blocks and Four Oil and Gas Fields, Operating Onshore in the Country
The prominent businessman and current president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, is concluding the sale of his oil and gas company (Ouro Preto) to Starboard Restructuring Partners. Due to Petrobras’ divestment process in onshore and shallow water fields, other oil companies are increasingly interested in investing in this segment, as is the case with Starboard.

Currently, the company holds exploration rights to 15 blocks and four fields in the Parnaíba, Barreirinhas, Recôncavo, Potiguar, Camamu, and Espírito Santo Basins, but remains alert to market opportunities.

Starboard, in consortium with 3R Petroleum, has already been in negotiations with Petrobras for the acquisition of fields in Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará, and today has shown interest in purchasing the oil company of the Flamengo president as well.
If the deal is finalized, Starboard will become another oil and gas company operating in the country’s onshore segment, joining names like PetroRecôncavo, Imetame, 3R Petroleum, Petro-Victory Energy, among others.
Landim, who is a former Petrobras director and former president of OGX, as far as is known, intends to fully dedicate himself to the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, which has had an excellent season with the conquest of important titles in 2019.
