The first Long Duration Test carried out in ultra-deep waters in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, in the Northeast region
In February last year, Petrobras carried out the Farfan Long Duration Test (EWT), located approximately 70 kilometers off the coast of Sergipe. The purpose of the TLD is to evaluate the behavior of the reservoir in production and the characteristics of its oil. The technical information collected during the testing phase provided support to define the steps of the Sergipe Águas Profundas project – Module 1 (SEAP 1), of which Farfan is part.
The Farfan EWT is the first to be carried out in ultra-deep waters in the Northeast, whose well is located in a water depth of approximately 2.500m, being the deepest that Petrobras has ever placed to produce in Brazil. Tests in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin were important to prove the quality of the reservoir and define future production development projects.
During the Discovery Assessment Plan (PAD), drilling and seismic activities were carried out that confirmed the presence of excellent quality oil in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin region.
