The Free Course Is Aimed At Young People Aged 17 To 22 And Registrations Are Open Until July 30

Gerdau, in partnership with the National Service for Industrial Learning (Senai), is offering 30 spots in a free course for the Young Apprentice program at the Charqueadas unit in Rio Grande do Sul (RS). The initiative aims to train young people, providing vocational training in the area of steelmaking, according to the Catraca Livre website.

The Young Apprentice program from Gerdau is inclusive and prioritizes hiring women, self-declared Black and mixed-race individuals, and people with disabilities. The course is structured in a development path aimed at training professionals in the area of steelmaking.

The free training course will be conducted by Senai, providing participants with the necessary skills to perform operations in steelmaking processes and other operational demands in the industry. Approved candidates will start the course in October 2024, lasting two years.

Classes And Practical Experience – Gerdau And Senai

The theoretical and practical classes of the free course will be held at the Gerdau industrial unit in Charqueadas. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to work directly in the operational areas of the plant, such as Steelmaking, Rolling, Mechanical Transformation, and Logistics. At the end of the course, participants will receive a certification issued by Senai.

Participants of the Young Apprentice program from Gerdau will receive a scholarship and various benefits, including health insurance, free virtual medical assistance through the Einstein Conecta program, transportation or shuttle allowance, on-site parking, bike parking, maternity support program, and paternity leave.

Registrations Open For The Free Course From Gerdau With Senai

Those interested must reside in Charqueadas or the surrounding area, be between 17 and 22 years old, be currently enrolled in or have completed high school, and be available to attend classes in a hybrid format during the morning and afternoon. Registrations are open until July 30 and can be made through Gerdau’s official website.

The selection process for the program involves several stages, including candidate screening, questionnaire evaluation, group dynamics, and in-person interviews.

Requirements For Participation In The Free Course

To participate in the program, candidates must:

Reside in Charqueadas or the surrounding area.
Be available for hybrid classes (morning and afternoon) from October 2024 to October 2026.
Be enrolled and attending or have already completed high school.
Women must be between 17 and 22 years old at the time of registration.
Men must be of legal age and have a regularized situation with the Brazilian Army.
Have a Professional Card, CPF, and RG issued or digital.
Preferably come from public educational institutions (municipal or state).
Preferably fit into one of the social diversity pillars: Women, LGBTI+, People with Disabilities, Black and Mixed-Race Individuals.
