The Italian tech giant Zucchetti is set to more than double its investment in Brazil, specifically in Santa Catarina. Alessio Mainardi, CEO of the company operations in Brazil, informed the government that the corporation plans to invest over R$ 150 million by 2024. The aim of the new investments is to develop through new acquisitions, as well as the hiring of new professionals.
Italian Multinational Continues Investment of R$ 250 Million in Acquisitions in Brazil
In 2020, the company brought approximately R$ 100 million to the country to purchase the software company Compufour from Santa Catarina. The announcement of the new investment round was made during a meeting with members of the Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development of Santa Catarina. Mainardi committed to contributing additional resources to the state. This funding will be used to support sustainable economic development as well as the creation of new jobs.
During the conference, Zucchetti’s CEO also announced that it would be one of the sponsors of the Reuni Challenge 2022. This event aims to promote entrepreneurial culture in educational institutions, such as universities. The event features a competitive entrepreneurship marathon that brings together institutions from across the state. The goal is to work on a variety of creative ideas over a weekend, facing a range of challenges.

During his visit, the CEO of Zucchetti Brasil also visited the headquarters of the Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), reiterating the company’s commitment to the partnership with the entity, with the aim of enhancing the innovation and technology ecosystem in Santa Catarina. Walmoli Gerber, Vice President of Marketing at ACATE, Marcelo Wolowski, Director of the Investment Group, and Bruno Guimarães, Director of the Retail Vertical, welcomed him upon arrival.
Guimarães notes that there are currently 101 companies participating in the Retail Vertical, of which 65% are considered startups in the sector. Zucchetti is one of the companies actively involved in this initiative. Meetings, presentations, business rounds, events connecting retailers and funding sources are regularly held by the organization.
The event Varejo Tech Day, which took place for the first time in July this year, is considered one of the highlights of the Retail Vertical. Zucchetti was also present at the edition as a sponsor.
