Washer and dryer line bets on high capacity, artificial intelligence, and quick cycles to solve a common challenge in Brazilian laundries: washing large items, such as duvets and blankets, without requiring more space in the service area.
LG Electronics Brazil announced, on June 15, 2026, a new line of washer and dryer with capacities of 15 kg, 16 kg, and 18 kg, aimed at consumers who need to wash bulky items without expanding the space occupied in the laundry.
With a larger drum, artificial intelligence features, and mobile connectivity, the models target apartments and houses with compact service areas, where every centimeter usually matters in choosing an appliance.
The launch reinforces the brand’s bet on machines with high internal capacity and external dimensions designed for smaller environments, without turning the laundry into a space dominated by the equipment.

After building a 5-acre lake on his farm, the owner reveals plans for a new artificial lake with a flowing river, waterfalls, islands, and even an indoor version with a retractable roof to control light, temperature, and transform the rural landscape.

LG washer and dryer arrives with up to 18 kg
Identified as LG Washer and Dryer 15kg Slim WD15GNTS6B, the 15 kg model was developed with a narrower structure to facilitate installation in compact laundries.
In the 16 kg and 18 kg versions, LG states that the external dimensions are close to those of conventional machines of smaller volume, while the internal space accommodates larger and more difficult-to-wash items at home.
According to Edianne Menezes, Home Solutions manager at LG Brazil, the Brazilian laundry needs to be functional, as the consumer seeks to wash large duvets without allowing the machine to dominate the entire service area.
The executive also stated that the new line combines high capacity, compact design, and artificial intelligence to make clothing care more practical in everyday use.
Artificial intelligence adjusts the wash
Present in the models of the line, the AI DD™ technology identifies weight and fabric type to automatically adjust the drum movements during the wash cycle.
This feature, according to LG, aims to improve cleaning efficiency and reduce wear on items, adapting the machine’s operation to the type of load placed in the basket.
Exclusive to the 18 kg version, the evolution AI DD™ 2.0 also detects the level of dirt on clothes before setting the cycle adjustments.
Together with the ezDispense, an automatic soap and softener dispenser, the system releases the necessary amount of product for each wash, with the aim of avoiding waste and improving the final result.
Steam, quick cycle, and connectivity
Among the hygiene features, the Steam™ technology uses high-temperature steam to eliminate up to 99.9% of bacteria and allergens, according to information released by LG.
The Steam+™ function, described on the brand’s official page, was developed to sanitize clothes and reduce agents associated with allergies, enhancing the appeal of the models for routines with higher cleaning demands.
Another point highlighted by the manufacturer is the TurboWash™ 360, a feature that uses 3D water jets to wash a full load in 39 minutes.
In the 18 kg model, LG states that the technology combines spray, detergent, and cycle movements to reduce washing time without compromising fabric care.
Through LG ThinQ™, the user can monitor cycles, download washing programs, and activate functions via smartphone, a feature that brings the machine closer to the connected routine of current appliances.
The technical specifications of the 18 kg model also confirm support for Wi-Fi, remote start, a program for duvets, and a maximum washing capacity of 18 kg.
With the new line, LG seeks to respond to a common demand in apartments: washing large items in increasingly smaller service areas, without relying on external laundries.
The strategy involves expanding the useful capacity of the appliance without making the product incompatible with compact residential laundries, maintaining a focus on practicality, automation, and better space utilization.
