“Today, when we arrive at these events, these major players already know Sergipe. They already know our team, who sits at the table and participates in the discussions. This shows that we are standing out,” the governor emphasized.
Natural Gas Can Change the Future of Sergipe’s Economy
Mitidieri also drew attention to the project “Sergipe Deep Waters,” which promises to revolutionize the state economy.
The auction scheduled for August will allow for the exploration of natural gas offshore, which could place the state in a prominent position in the national energy scenario.
“We are talking about the exploration of gas in deep waters, which can attract more industries, qualified jobs, and opportunities for the people of Sergipe. Just to submit proposals, companies invest around 20 million dollars. Only those who really have interest and capacity to invest will participate,” the governor reinforced.
American Datacenter Arrives in Sergipe
Still during the international mission, the Sergipe government established a partnership with the North American group Optimus, which will build a datacenter in Nossa Senhora do Socorro.
The initial investment forecast is US$ 1 billion, with construction expected to begin in 2026.
“It’s a billion-dollar market. The initial investment will be 1 billion dollars. We have already started the procedures for the work to begin in early 2026,” Mitidieri said.
Proactive Government Seeks Opportunities Beyond Borders
Fábio Mitidieri concluded the interview by reaffirming that the success of the state management depends on actively seeking opportunities.
For him, participation in strategic events and promoting Sergipe as an investment destination are essential actions.
“We need to create relationships, participate in major events, and hold events. This is what we have been doing with Sergipe Oil & Gas in São Paulo, in Rio, and here in the state. There is no comfortable space in this market. We need to chase after opportunities, and thankfully, things are happening,” he concluded.
With strategic actions and focus on key areas such as natural gas, infrastructure, and innovation, the government of Sergipe positions itself to enter a new cycle of growth, generating jobs and enhancing the local economy.
