Meu INSS platform expands digital access to retirements, medical examinations, document issuance, and CNIS consultation without the need for in-person service, concentrating more than 90 Social Security services on the mobile phone and reducing the dependency on queues in physical agencies for millions of insured people across the country.

Retirees, pensioners, and other INSS insured individuals have started to resolve services via mobile phone that previously required traveling to a Social Security agency, a movement that accelerated the digitalization of social security service and reduced the dependency on in-person queues in different regions of the country.

Available for Android, iOS, and also in browsers, Meu INSS gathers more than 90 digital services, including CNIS consultation, statement issuance, retirement simulation, benefit requests, medical examination scheduling, and issuance of the beneficiary card with QR Code.

To access the platform, the citizen needs to use a Gov.br account linked to the CPF, in addition to completing validation steps that may include confirmation of personal data, facial recognition, and complementary authentication to reinforce the protection of social security information.

Meu INSS concentrates Social Security services on the mobile phone

In practice, Meu INSS started to function as a digital center for Social Security, concentrating consultations, requests, document issuance, and process tracking in a single platform accessible both via the app and the computer.

Although in-person service remains available in specific situations, such as document requirements or in-person medical examinations, a large part of routine demands can already be resolved without the need for physical presence at the institute’s agencies.

Among the most used services is the consultation of the National Social Information Register (CNIS), a document that gathers employment links, remunerations, and contributions recorded in the social security database used by the INSS for the analysis of retirements and other benefits.

By accessing the CNIS in advance, the worker can identify possible registration errors, periods without proper registration, or missing links, a situation that may later require the presentation of documents capable of proving contribution time and professional activity.

Retirement simulation helps in social security planning

Another functionality highly sought after by the insured is the retirement simulation, a tool that uses the data already recorded in the CNIS to calculate an estimate of the remaining time until meeting the requirements demanded by Social Security.

Although it serves as support for pension planning, the simulation does not replace the official analysis conducted by the INSS, mainly because incomplete information, registration discrepancies, or periods not yet recognized can alter the result displayed by the system.

In addition to this consultation, the application also allows requesting retirement by age, retirement by contribution time, death pension, welfare benefits, and requests related to temporary incapacity, with digital submission of the necessary documentation for administrative analysis.

After the request, the system itself informs the progress of the process and communicates any requirements, allowing the insured to attach new documents, supplement pending information, or correct data within the deadlines set by the institute.

Medical examination scheduling can be done online

In requests related to temporary incapacity, formerly known as sick leave, Meu INSS also offers the opening of a request, submission of medical documents, and monitoring of the analysis conducted by Social Security through digital channels.

In certain situations, the system may indicate the need for an in-person examination, in which case the insured can choose an available unit, select a date and time for the appointment, and track possible changes directly through the application or website.

If it is necessary to reschedule the medical examination, the request can also be made digitally, an alternative that reduces unnecessary travel and facilitates the routine of those who depend on the examination evaluation to maintain or gain access to the social security benefit.

Digital beneficiary card features photo and QR Code

Among the most recent features available on the platform is the digital beneficiary card, a document issued for insured individuals with an active benefit that includes a registered photo, validation QR Code, and information used for official verification with different services.

To issue the card, the user accesses the corresponding service within Meu INSS, submits a photograph, and confirms the registered data, a process completed digitally without the need for immediate printing of paper receipts.

In addition to the main function of social security identification, the card is also integrated with Meu INSS+, an initiative that brings together services and benefits offered by partner institutions linked to the federal government program.

Statements and receipts remain among the most sought-after services

Also among the most accessed services of Meu INSS are the issuance of payment statements, grant letters, benefit receipt declarations, and documents used in the annual Income Tax declaration submitted to the Federal Revenue.

These receipts are usually required by banks, public agencies, health institutions, and administrative processes related to income verification, in addition to allowing the insured to monitor received amounts, applied discounts, and bank information linked to the benefit.

Even with the expansion of digital services, the INSS continues to offer support via phone 135 and physical agencies by appointment, especially in situations that require in-person service or more specific document analysis.

When using digital services, the guidance is for the insured to pay attention to the registered data, preserve the Gov.br account password, and use only official channels to avoid fraud or unauthorized access to social security information.

If there is an error in the CNIS or a discrepancy in documents issued by the platform, the request for correction must be made directly through the official INSS channels for updating the registration database and reviewing the recorded information.
