Free biosafety courses in Rio Grande do Sul are available until July 31, 2021
The Ministry of Tourism continues to offer opportunities for free courses to train professionals in the sector and to adapt to the new health protocols, thus guaranteeing safety for workers and tourists in the resumption of activities with the help of biosecurity. In this sense, the government, through a partnership signed with the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), provides three free distance courses in the area of biosafety.

The qualification "Hygienization and Safety in Accommodation Facilities", made available by the government in Rio Grande do Sul, aims to qualify professionals and managers who work in hotels, inns, rental of temporary homes, among others, regarding new standards and procedures for hygiene and safety in the sector. Among the subjects addressed is the seal “Responsible, Clean and Safe Tourism”, from the Ministry of Tourism, which establishes a security protocol for 15 tourist segments. The course guidelines aim to contribute to the recovery of confidence on the part of tourists, guests and employees, in addition to helping to reduce the spread of the virus.
The free courses “Good food handling practices in the service sector during the Covid-19 pandemic” address the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as gloves and masks; handling food; the correct layout of the environment, tables and positioning of people to ensure everyone's safety; in addition to current legislation for food services.

Also in this area, the complementary course on “Food Hygiene and Quality Control” addresses the theme that involves the production of safe food for those who consume it, such as the principles and requirements of good manufacturing practices; the implementation of the hazard analysis system and critical control points in the processing lines and the regulation and standardization of food quality.
About registration for courses offered by the government in Rio Grande do Sul
With registration open until June 30, the free courses, made available by the government in Rio Grande do Sul, must be completed by July 31, 2021, the deadline also for issuing a certificate. To be entitled to the document, the student must reach a minimum final average of 60%.
