Pernambuco continues to advance in its economic development with the announcement of 61 new investment projects, distributed among industries, distribution centers, and importing companies. These projects, in addition to expanding operations in the state, are expected to generate 642 new jobs and total R$ 70.4 million just in the industrial sector.
The numbers were presented this Tuesday (15), during the 128th Meeting of the State Council of Industrial, Commercial, and Service Policies (Condic), held at the headquarters of the Economic Development Agency of Pernambuco (Adepe).
The relevance of these investments is linked to the state’s tax incentive programs, such as the Pernambuco Development Program (Prodepe) and the Pernambuco Industry Stimulus Program (Proind), both essential for fostering industry growth, decentralizing job opportunities, and attracting companies to various regions of Pernambuco.

Interiorization of Jobs and Investments

The main highlight among the approved projects was the interiorization of jobs. Of the 642 new job positions, 505 will be allocated to the interior of the state, and only 137 to the Metropolitan Region of Recife (RMR). This decentralization policy is one of the priority goals of Raquel Lyra’s government, which seeks to distribute the benefits of development more equitably among the regions.
Among the 37 industrial projects, Prodepe includes 11 initiatives totaling R$ 12.6 million, generating 159 jobs, while Proind will be responsible for 26 projects, with an investment of R$ 57.8 million and 483 new jobs. One example is the expansion of BRN Indústria in Petrolina, which will receive R$ 4.5 million, in addition to the establishment of JPS Unamilk in São Bento do Uma, with an investment of R$ 1.2 million.
The Secretary of Economic Development, Guilherme Cavalcanti, commented on the importance of this interiorization movement: “It is very gratifying to see more than 80% of the jobs going to the interior. This shows that the interiorization policy is beginning to bear fruit. Adepe has been working directly with entrepreneurs in these regions, providing the same level of support and information that we give in the Metropolitan Region,” he emphasized.
These projects are not only a continuation of the three investment announcements already made this year, which have so far totaled R$ 820 million and more than 3,000 new jobs, but also point to a strengthening of this policy. A final Condic meeting is scheduled for December, where new projects are expected to be approved.
Incentives for Importers and Distribution Centers
In addition to industrial investments, the Condic meeting also approved projects aimed at the importation sector and distribution centers. A total of 11 projects from importing companies received favorable opinions, with an expectation of generating R$ 580.8 million in annual transactions and a collection of R$ 68.6 million in ICMS for the state. Among these companies are Big Works Comércio and Decore Indústria de Persianas e Cortinas, located in cities like Recife, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, and Caruaru.
The distribution sector will also be strengthened with 13 new Distribution Center (CD) projects. These centers are expected to generate R$ 321.0 million in annual purchases and transfers, in addition to a collection of ICMS of R$ 29.0 million. The cities included in the projects are Arcoverde, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, and Ipojuca, as well as other strategic municipalities for logistics in the state.
According to André Teixeira Filho, president of Adepe, these numbers are proof of the government’s work to bring development to all regions of Pernambuco. “In a year and a half of management, we have managed to create almost 95,000 jobs. Today’s announcement reinforces our focus on generating jobs and income not only in the Metropolitan Region but throughout the state, from the coast to the hinterland,” he stated.
With the last Condic meeting scheduled for December, there is an expectation that more investments will be announced by the end of the year, further boosting the economy of Pernambuco and expanding opportunities for the entire population.
