BEEM Program Offers Scholarships of Up to R$ 851.46 for Young People in Technical Training in the State Network. Initiative Seeks to Bring Education Closer to the Job Market with Openings in Companies and Public Agencies.
The Government of the State of São Paulo has 10,000 open positions for paid internships through the BEEM Program (High School Scholarship Internship). The scholarships are aimed at students enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of high school with technical training in the state network. Applications are available until March 31, 2025, through the official website.
The program was announced by the Secretary of Education of the State of São Paulo (Seduc-SP) and reported by outlets such as Catraca Livre, which highlighted the scholarship amounts, eligibility criteria, and the social impact of the action. According to the department, BEEM aims to provide practical experience and generate income for students in vocational training.
Two Internship Modalities Available
The program consists of two areas of operation:
-
Brazil has been promising a nuclear-powered submarine since the 1980s and has yet to deliver, while South Korea, which didn’t even have the program, has already announced theirs.
-
To take down swarms of drones and cheap missiles without spending a fortune on ammunition, Japan tested a 100-kilowatt laser cannon at sea, mounted on a warship.
-
After decades of relying on diesel submarines, South Korea unveiled a plan to domestically build its first nuclear-powered submarine, using low-enriched uranium.
-
Turkey hit a target using a real warhead and confirmed that its SOM-J cruise missile is ready, another step for the country to become a power that manufactures and exports its own military technology.
- BEEM Internship: allows the student to work directly in companies or public institutions, performing activities related to their technical course.
- BEEM Monitoring: the student assists peers in their tasks and content, reinforcing classroom learning under the supervision of teachers.
The weekly workload can vary between 12 and 20 hours, and scholarship amounts range from R$ 422.03 to R$ 851.46, depending on the workload and modality. Students are also entitled to transportation assistance, in addition to personal accident insurance, as informed by Seduc-SP.
Who Can Participate in the Scholarships?
To apply for one of the 10,000 positions, the following criteria must be met:
- Be at least 16 years old by the start date of the internship;
- Be regularly enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of technical high school in the state public network;
- Present a minimum attendance of 85% in the last semester;

Partners and Practical Action
BEEM is coordinated by the Foundation for the Development of Education (FDE) and receives support from private companies and public agencies interested in hosting interns. Partner institutions are responsible for providing the work structure, ensuring supervision, and offering transportation.
According to Seduc-SP, scholarships will initially last for six months, with the possibility of extension. Activities must align with the technical content studied by the student, enhancing practical preparation for the job market.
How to Apply
Applications for the scholarships must be made by March 31, exclusively through the website www.beem.sp.gov.br. After completing the form, the data will be analyzed, and pre-selected students will be notified by email or phone.
