The Government of Japan is accepting applications for scholarships. Brazilians can apply and have the chance to study abroad in master’s, PhD, undergraduate courses, and much more.
The Japanese Government announced on Monday (16) that it is accepting applications for scholarship programs for the next year from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Education, Science, and Technology of the country. Those who are selected for the programs will have the opportunity to study at universities in the Asian country as undergraduate students, in vocational training or technical school, or also be approved as research students, being able to conduct a PhD or master’s project in Japan.
All the Details About the Scholarships Offered by the Government of Japan
The scholarships offered are full scholarships and include airfare, monthly living allowance, and exemption from school fees. The program will also provide a Japanese language course during the first year.
Those residing in the Federal District, Tocantins, and Goiás must submit their applications to the Embassy of Japan, either in person or by mail. Those living in other locations should contact the Japanese consulate in the region.

This month, applications are open for the postgraduate program. The start of studies in the country is scheduled for April next year and will last for two years. Candidates must meet certain requirements set by the Government of Japan, such as educational background, a maximum age of 34 years by April next year, and proficiency in Japanese or English.
The selection process consists of a document analysis, interview, and written tests. In a later phase, it will be necessary to send documentation to the Government of the country for analysis by the Japanese ministry. For undergraduate scholarships, vocational training, and technical school, individuals with a completed high school education by March next year and who are up to 24 years old in April 2023 will be accepted. Applications can be made on June 1 and will end on the 24th of the same month.
