The Secretary of State of Maranhão (Seduc) is offering 167 courses, with 6,330 spots for teenagers, youth, and adults for initial and continuing education or workshops, focusing on professional qualification. The courses, held in 44 municipalities, are part of the training axis of the Young Workers Program, which includes youth from public schools. Details of the Young Workers Program in the State of Maranhão
The initiative that will offer free courses through the “Young Workers Program” was established by the Government of the State of Maranhão, bringing together initiatives from the Secretary of State for Labor and Solidarity Economy (Setres), Secretary of State for Industry, Commerce, and Energy (Seinc), Secretary of State for Education (Seduc), and the Secretary of State Extraordinary for Youth (Seejuv).

Take a free technical course with Senai and receive a scholarship of up to R$ 2,225 with support from Vale; vacancies open for welder, electrician, and mechanic, with benefits such as medical assistance, food voucher, and others.

SENAC offers a free technical course in Logistics starting in June: there are 25 spots and in-person training in Três Lagoas (MS).

The courses/workshops will be held in Vocational Units of the Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Maranhão (IEMA), spaces of unions, churches, social entities, municipal agencies, among other locations, resulting from a partnership between Seduc and these institutions.
Enrollment for the free courses began at the start of the semester; however, it was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the courses/workshops will be held following all biosafety protocols established by health authorities.
