New Technologies Involving Eco-Friendly Steel Promise to Change the Steel Sector
Hybrit, a company from Sweden, has developed a completely eco-friendly steel. The material does not use any fossil fuel in its manufacture.
The project has been under development for five years, and a technology using hydrogen is employed in the production of the material. The Hybrit project in the steel sector is so promising that it already has interested customers and has made its first delivery. Among the interested parties is Volvo, the manufacturer of cars and trucks that ordered the material for automobile manufacturing.
Eco-friendly steel is innovative for the steel sector because the production of steel and iron annually generates about 2.6 gigatons of CO2 released directly into the atmosphere, and with the new technology, this value could be significantly reduced.
