The Experience Policy of Petrobras, Once Inflexible, Now Will Be a Lesser Requirement for Those Who Wish to Work in the Offshore Sector

One of Petrobras’ requirements that hinders the entry of newly graduated workers is the two-year embarkation experience deadline, which has been a subject of many inquiries over the years. Mayor Welberth and state company managers met on Thursday (11), agreeing to end this requirement, where the CETEP course duration will help new workers secure the coveted position in the offshore field. This will greatly facilitate things for recent graduates and increase opportunities for locals.

Technical Center for Professional Education (CETEP) is an institution aimed at preparing specialized labor for the job market in the city of Macaé. One of the main complaints from students who attended the institution is that some companies were not recognizing these courses with valid certificates.

Now, with this agreement, the Certificates for the oil and gas offshore courses in the city of Macaé will not only be valid but will also count as experience time.

Joining Petrobras Is Possible Only Through Public Calls

It is important to emphasize that to enter Petrobras, it is only possible through a public selection process or public competition. The aforementioned system is for outsourced workers, who previously had to have a minimum of 2 years of CLT-registered experience to work on an oil platform. Naturally, this has been hindering people from different fields or those seeking their first offshore job. With this milestone, there is a new horizon of hope to enter this market from now on.
