The man was identified as Gabriel Lima de Souza, and according to information from the Medical Legal Institute (IML), the cause of death was mechanical asphyxiation due to neck constriction.

The Cherne-2 platform is one of the main oil exploration areas in Brazil, being responsible for a significant share of national production.
