IFMG Has Thousands of Openings in Free Courses Across All Its Campuses in the State of Minas.
The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais (IFMG) published this week the announcements for its new selection process for the admission of new students in free courses for the first academic semester of 2023. According to the released documents, there are more than 5,000 openings for Minas Gerais, distributed among technical and undergraduate courses.
List of Openings Provided by IFMG in Free Courses
The professional training opportunities are free and will be offered at the 18 campuses of the institution in Minas Gerais, located in the cities of Arcos, Betim, Bambuí, Congonhas, Conselheiro Lafaiete, Governador Valadares, Formiga, Ibirité, Ipatinga, Ouro Branco, Ouro Preto, Itabirito, Piumhi, Ribeirão das Neves, Ponte Nova, Sabará, Santa Luzia, and São João Evangelista. Admission Methods and Free Courses Offered by IFMG

Those interested in enrolling in free technical courses, in the subsequent and integrated into high school modalities, will be evaluated through an exam scheduled to be held on December 4 of this year.
On the other hand, the selection process for the free undergraduate courses will be based on the scores obtained by candidates in one of the last ten editions of the National High School Exam, that is, Enem 2013 to 2022.
Of the total openings available, 2,369 are designated for 48 integrated technical courses, meaning for those who have completed elementary school and are moving to high school; 597 are for the 16 subsequential technical free courses, for those who have already completed high school; and the remaining 2,057 openings are for candidates wishing to enroll in the 51 undergraduate courses.
In addition to enrolling through a selection process, students looking for a higher education course who participated in Enem 2022 may also choose to study at IFMG through the Unified Selection System (SISU), with rules stipulated in a specific announcement.
Registrations for the IFMG Selection Process
The selection process in Minas Gerais will be conducted by the Cefet Minas Foundation (FCM), contracted through bidding by IFMG. The registration system will be hosted on the foundation’s page, where candidates must register from September 12 to October 30.
The registration link will be announced on the FCM website during this period. The registration fee for the selection process for the free courses will be R$ 20.00; however, exemption requests can be made until October 17.
In addition to the complete list of free courses and openings, the published announcements contain essential information about the functioning of the quota system, the timeline for the entrance exam, and the syllabus of the tests. Reading the documents by the participants is mandatory.
