Tech giants laid off 92,000 people in four months to invest in artificial intelligence, and now robots do the work that humans took years to learn.
With roads worn down by time and heavy vehicle traffic, many sections already presented precarious conditions, raising the risks of accidents and making it difficult to transport cargo and passengers.
The new works arise in response to these demands, ensuring significant structural improvements for the region’s road infrastructure.
According to the Official State Gazette this Monday (3), the government of Mato Grosso do Sul hired two companies to carry out the works on the highways MS-276 and MS-436, totaling approximately R$ 165 million in investments.
The interventions include the complete restoration of the pavement and structural adjustments to increase traffic capacity and safety.
Segment of MS-276 Will Have Nearly 30 km Restored
The first work will cover 29.7 km of the MS-276 highway, which connects Dourados and Fátima do Sul.
The specific section starts at the junction with BR-163, in Vila São Pedro, in Dourados, and continues to the bridge over the Dourados River, on the border with Fátima do Sul.
The company Engepar Engenharia e Participações Ltda was chosen to carry out the work, and the amount allocated for this restoration will be R$ 63.9 million.
The initiative aims not only to repair the worn asphalt but also to promote structural improvements to ensure more comfort and safety for drivers.
In addition to the revitalization of the pavement, improvements in drainage and signaling will be implemented, essential to prevent flooding and increase visibility for drivers.
With these changes, a reduction in accident rates and greater traffic flow is expected, facilitating the movement of agricultural and industrial production in the region.
MS-436 Will Receive Investment Exceeding R$ 100 Million
The second intervention will take place on MS-436, covering a larger section, with 49.9 km in length, between the municipalities of Camapuã and Figueirão.
The specific section starts at the bridge over the Ribeirão da Pontinha River and extends to the junction with MS-223 highway.
Responsible for execution, LCM Construção e Comércio S.A will receive a total of R$ 101.2 million for the work.
According to the signed contract, the services include complete restoration of the pavement and necessary adjustments to adapt the road to the growing traffic demand.
This highway has strategic importance for the local economy, as it connects key cities for agropecuary in Mato Grosso do Sul.
The improvement of the infrastructure will directly contribute to the flow of the harvest, facilitating the transportation of products and reducing logistics costs.
Expectation for Start and Completion of the Works
Despite the contracts having already been formalized, the works are still awaiting the signing of the order of service to commence.
According to the website Campo Grande News, the report consulted the Transparency Portal, but could not find information about the deadline for the completion of the works.
In addition, the same portal stated that the State Agency for Enterprise Management (Agesul) was questioned about the schedule, but did not return by the closing of this article.
The requalification of these highways is seen as fundamental for the economic development of the region, as they are strategic routes for the flow of agricultural and industrial production in the state.
Moreover, the improvement of the road conditions should significantly reduce the risk of accidents, providing safer traffic for drivers and passengers.
Residents of the affected cities are eagerly awaiting the start of the works, hoping that the renewed infrastructure will bring more economic opportunities and quality of life.
The expectation is that, with restored roads, transportation will be faster and more efficient, preventing losses caused by poor road conditions.
