Students Have A New Chance To Compete For Paid Internships At Partner Companies; Deadlines Have Been Extended

The São Paulo State Department of Education (Seduc-SP) has extended the deadline until April 13 for high school technical students to enroll in the High School Internship Scholarship (BEEM) program. The program offers 10,000 internship positions in partner companies, with scholarships ranging from R$ 422.03 to R$ 851.46, depending on the course and workload.

What Is BEEM?

BEEM is an initiative by the São Paulo government aimed at connecting technical course students to the job market.

The selected students will work in companies from different regions of São Paulo, with a scholarship paid by Seduc-SP for six months.

Who Can Participate In The Internship Program?

To apply, candidates must meet some specific requirements. They need to be 16 years old by the date of admission, be enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of Technical High School, and have a school attendance rate of over 85% in the previous semester.

Additionally, it is mandatory for the candidate to have participated in the Statewide Series Exam in the year prior to registration.

The selection process is divided into two phases: an eliminatory phase and a classificatory phase, and may include resume analysis or interviews, if desired by the company.

How Can Companies Join The Program?

Companies interested in offering positions for BEEM students must complete a registration form by May 31.

Among the requirements to join the program, there must be a supervisor with training or experience in the area of the technical course, as well as ensuring transportation assistance for the interns.

The Impact Of BEEM On Students And Companies

Silvana Oliveira, a member of the Paulista Professional Education Program team, highlights that BEEM’s main goal is to connect young students with companies, allowing them to apply the knowledge acquired in the technical course. “Companies will have access to prepared students who are motivated to learn and grow within the work environment,” she stated.

With the deadline extension, students have more time to secure a chance in the job market, while companies can benefit from the inclusion of skilled young people in their teams.

The program is an opportunity for both the professional development of students and the renewal of the teams of partner companies.
