The Federal Institute of South Minas offers free online courses focused on tourism qualification, with certification and selection by electronic draw. There are 600 places available for residents of Minas Gerais, starting in October 2025.
The Federal Institute of South Minas (IFSuldeMinas), in partnership with the Government of Minas Gerais, has opened 600 places for two free online courses in the area of tourism, with completion certificates and selection by electronic draw.
The programs have 40 hours each and are aimed at residents of Minas aged 16 or older with complete elementary education.
Enrollment will be open until October 12, and classes will begin on October 27, 2025, after an orientation from October 20.

Who Can Participate
Individuals with a CPF and identity document, residing in any municipality in the state of Minas Gerais, can register.
The minimum requirement is to be 16 years old and to provide proof of complete elementary education.

Calendar and Selection Steps
Enrollment occurs between September 15 and October 12, 2025.
The list of selected individuals will be published on October 15, and candidates will be notified by email.
In the following week, from October 20 to 26, there will be orientation on the virtual learning platform.

What Each Course Covers
The course Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies in Tourism trains participants to plan, implement, and use monitoring and evaluation processes in the sector.
The content covers methodologies and indicators that support decision-making, transparency, and continuous improvement of public actions.
There are 300 places and a 40-hour workload.
On the other hand, the training Tourism for All: Diversity, Accessibility, and Inclusion prepares managers, professionals, and entrepreneurs to incorporate inclusive practices in tourism services and experiences, focusing on accessibility and valuing diversity.

This offering is part of the Knowledge Routes program, developed by IFSuldeMinas in cooperation with the Minas Gerais State Department of Culture and Tourism (Secult-MG).
Certification and Completion Criteria
The courses are free, offered in the EaD modality, and entitle students to a certificate upon completion.
To receive the document, the student must achieve a minimum average of 60%, maintain 75% attendance, and complete the institutional evaluation.
The certificate will be available within 30 days after the course concludes, according to the rules published by IFSuldeMinas.

The two training programs are part of actions for professional qualification to strengthen tourism in Minas and increase the sector’s adherence to principles of inclusion and evidence-based management.
The partnership between IFSuldeMinas and Secult-MG allows for greater outreach of the offering and serves audiences from different regions of the state, thanks to the remote format and the absence of a qualifying exam in the selection process.

Final Guidelines for Candidates
The announcements clearly state that pre-registration does not guarantee the opening of classes if there is not enough demand or budget availability.
The institution may cancel the offering if attendance falls below 50% of enrolled students after classes begin, provided that more than 25% of the total hours has not been fulfilled.
These conditions ensure the organization of classes and the appropriate use of resources involved.
