Don't miss out: free courses with financial aid in Salvador! IFBA offers 240 vacancies in creative and technical areas, such as photography, cultural agent and stage lighting.
Imagine completely changing your life with free professional training in high-demand areas, and also receiving financial assistance to help with transportation and food.
This is the opportunity offered by Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA), which opened 240 vacancies for free courses on the Salvador campus, in specialties such as cultural agent, photography and stage lighting. But be careful: registrations are limited and the deadline is approaching.
These courses represent a gateway for young people and adults seeking to improve their employability and professional qualifications, especially in a market that increasingly values technical knowledge.
- With the shortage of qualified professionals in the Transportation sector, SEST SENAT offers places on free, 100% online courses with a free certificate for professionals working in this sector.
- Free health courses: Ministry of Health and SUS offer online training (EAD) on phytotherapy, music therapy and floral remedies
- FGV offers 216 free online courses (EAD) in various areas of knowledge with flexible training and a certificate of participation
- SENAC offers free technical training courses in the most promising areas of the market, such as aesthetics, nursing and more
According to the notice published by IFBA, the classes will be in-person and aim to serve people with incomplete elementary education, prioritizing young people between 16 and 29 years old registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) or the National Employment System (Sine).

What courses are available?
IFBA made three course options available, totaling 240 vacancies divided between the following areas:
- Cultural agent: 120 vacancies;
- Photographer: 60 vacancies;
- Stage lighting: 60 vacancies.
Classes will start on the day 20 January 2025 and will extend until April of the same year. With a total workload of 200 hours, the courses will be held from Monday to Friday, from 18 am - 22 pm, and occasionally on Saturdays.
To facilitate access, activities will take place in strategic locations and partners, such as Boca de Brasa Theater and the Neves Baptist State College, both located in the Cajazeiras neighborhood, in Salvador.
Financial aid for participants
One of the great advantages of this initiative is the financial assistance offered by IFBA to cover transportation and food costs.
Students enrolled and regularly attending classes will receive R$4,50 per hour/class, which can total up to R$ 900 throughout the course at the Federal Institute, depending on attendance.
According to the IFBA, this financial aid is essential to ensure that participants can attend classes without difficulties, promoting an inclusive and accessible experience.
How do vacancies and affirmative actions work?
The selection process also promotes social inclusion through affirmative actions.
Of the total of 240 vacancies, 60% are reserved for candidates who self-declare as black, brown or indigenous (PPI), 5% for people with disabilities (PCD) and 5% for quilombolas.
Os The remaining 30% will be allocated to the general competition. If some reserved vacancies are not filled, they will be redistributed to the other candidates in the general competition.
This policy reinforces IFBA's commitment to equal opportunities, prioritizing access to quality professional qualifications for historically marginalized groups.
Who can participate in courses at IFBA?
Although the courses are aimed primarily at young people between the ages of 16 and 29, anyone with incomplete primary education can apply. The basic requirements include:
- Priority for those registered in Single or Sine;
- Commitment to regular class attendance;
- Willingness to complete the workload at the stipulated times.
