Applications Open Until February
Applications are open for the selection process that offers 24 spots in four specialization courses, with a scholarship of R$ 1,100.00 monthly.
Interested applicants can sign up until February 15, 2025 to work as in-person or distance tutors under the Open University of Brazil Program (UAB), which is linked to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) of the Ministry of Education (MEC).
The selection process offers opportunities in courses aimed at various areas, such as Municipal Public Management, School Management, Technology and Quality in Food Production, and Theories and Practices in Education.
Requirements for Participation in Each Course
The course in Municipal Public Management, for example, requires that the candidate holds a degree in Applied Social Sciences and, at least, a completed or ongoing master’s degree in these areas.
For the Theories and Practices in Education course, a degree in Pedagogy is required, with a master’s or specialization in the field of Education.
For the Technology and Quality in Food Production (TecQuali) course, candidates must have a degree in areas such as Nutrition, Food Engineering, Pharmacy, Food Technology, among others, and also hold a master’s or postgraduate degree.
In the case of School Management, the requirement is a degree in Human Sciences or Applied Social Sciences, with a master’s degree in the same area.
Stages of the Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted in two stages, with the first being a curriculum analysis that is eliminatory and classificatory, followed by a second stage consisting of an interview.
The calling of candidates for the interview will be conducted by the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG), and information regarding the dates and the list of those selected will be available on the institution’s website, as announced in the link to the Selection Process Directory.
Opportunities for Teachers and Qualified Professionals
The selected tutors will receive a scholarship of R$ 1,100.00 monthly, paid directly by the CAPES, which represents an excellent opportunity for those seeking financial stability and flexibility at work.
For those dedicated to distance education, tasks can be performed at flexible hours, making it an excellent alternative for those who wish to combine this activity with other occupations.
Flexibility and Professional Growth
It is worth noting that, according to the Announcement 142/2024, the spots are distributed across four specialization courses, with the opportunity to work remotely.
This is an excellent time for professionals with a master’s or postgraduate degree to enter or deepen their involvement in the higher education universe, contributing to the training of other professionals while receiving a fair remuneration for the educational market.
Additionally, the selection is a great opportunity for professional growth for those interested in contributing to Brazilian education and expanding their academic horizons.
The model of in-person or distance tutor allows candidates to carry out their functions flexibly, without compromising the quality of education that will be offered to students in the courses provided by MEC and CAPES.

Finally, don’t let this opportunity pass. Access the UNIFAL-MG website and apply by February 15, 2025.
