New portable radio from JBL expands the Tuner line with features focused on mobility, connectivity, and use in different environments. The model combines traditional functions and current technologies in a proposal that seeks to meet those who switch between stations, streaming, and shared playback.
JBL launched the Tuner 3 in Brazil on July 9, 2026, with a suggested price of R$ 699, combining FM and digital radio, Bluetooth playback, IP68 protection, and a battery that can reach 15 hours with Playtime Boost mode.
The device succeeds the Tuner 2 and focuses the main changes on sound power, connectivity, resistance, and autonomy, maintaining the proposal to combine the traditional functions of a portable radio with features found in the manufacturer’s current Bluetooth speakers.
JBL Tuner 3 brings Pro Sound of 7 W RMS
The playback is handled by a 1.75-inch transducer, with a nominal power of 7 W RMS, frequency response between 75 Hz and 20 kHz, and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 80 dB, according to the specifications released by JBL.

In addition to conventional FM tuning, the model receives transmissions in the digital standards DAB and DAB+, while the wireless connection allows playing music, podcasts, and other content sent by cell phones, tablets, or devices compatible with Bluetooth.
Bluetooth version 5.3 works with A2DP 1.4 and AVRCP 1.6 profiles, used in audio transmission and control, offering an alternative to station reception when the user prefers to access stored content or streaming services.
With Auracast, two JBL Tuner 3 devices can be paired to form stereo playback, while several brand speakers compatible with the technology can receive the same audio in environments where a single unit is not enough.
On the top, six memory buttons allow saving favorite stations for quick access, while the backlit LCD screen displays information about the selected frequency and facilitates navigation between the available options on the portable radio.
Battery of JBL Tuner 3 can reach 15 hours
Under normal conditions, the lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 9 Wh offers up to 12 hours of playback, a period that can be extended by an additional three hours when the user activates the Playtime Boost saving feature.
The actual autonomy may vary depending on the volume and type of content played, while a full recharge takes approximately three and a half hours via the USB-C port, which receives a maximum power of 5 V and 1.35 A.
Through the JBL Portable app, the owner can also access updates, support, and sound customization options, complementing the physical controls installed on the equipment without replacing the dedicated buttons for tuning and storing favorite stations.
IP68 protection expands usage possibilities
The IP68 certification indicates resistance to dust ingress and protection against water immersion under conditions established by the manufacturer, a feature that expands usage possibilities near pools, beaches, or other environments subject to moisture.
The cabinet measures approximately 17.5 centimeters in width, 7.3 centimeters in height, and 7.1 centimeters in depth, not including the handle and antenna, while the weight reported by JBL is about 500 grams.
A reinforced finger strap is integrated into the structure and facilitates transport inside or outside the home, keeping the equipment compact for travel, although the dimensions and weight are higher than those found in ultracompact Bluetooth speakers without radio.
The manufacturer also states that the Tuner 3 uses post-consumer recycled plastic and recycled fabric on the grille, in addition to coming in packaging made with FSC-certified paper and printed with soy-based ink.
Price of JBL Tuner 3 in Brazil
The commercial package contains one unit of the JBL Tuner 3, a quick start guide, a warranty card, and a safety sheet, but does not include a USB cable, information that should be considered by those who do not yet have a compatible accessory for recharging.
With a suggested price of R$ 699, the portable radio was presented as an option for consumers who switch between stations and wireless streaming, prioritizing resistance, physical controls, extended autonomy, and integration with other Auracast-compatible speakers.
Among radio reception, the battery extended by Playtime Boost, and simultaneous connection with other speakers, which of these features would weigh more in choosing a portable device sold for R$ 699 in the Brazilian market?
