Land Rover has revealed two new exclusive editions of the Discovery, named Tempest and Gemini, according to the South African portal iol. The models, launched to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Discovery, stand out for their unmatched luxury, unique specifications, and tributes to iconic moments in the brand’s history.
Discovery Tempest: Absolute Luxury and Exclusive Details

The Discovery Tempest is announced by the manufacturer as the most luxurious, comfortable, and equipped Discovery model ever produced. The inspiration for the name comes from the secret development program for the second generation of the Discovery, originally launched in 1998 and considered one of the most emblematic versions.
Available exclusively in three body color options — Charente Grey, Varesine Blue, and Carpathian Grey — all are covered with a sophisticated matte protective film, further enhancing their visual exclusivity.

Discovery Gemini: Tribute to the Technical Legacy of the Original Discovery
The Discovery Gemini edition celebrates Land Rover’s technical tradition, bringing back the name of the famous Tdi diesel engine, used in the original Discovery launched in 1989.
This exclusive model offers six exterior color options, including the new Sedona Red, available exclusively on the Gemini, combined with an elegant Narvik Gloss Black roof. The external details in high gloss black extend to the side vents and lower body trims, creating a striking contrast.
The front grille with Atlas Gloss details and the Discovery logo reinforces the sophisticated look. The 21-inch Diamond Turned Silver Style 7001 alloy wheels, with seven split spokes, add a touch of additional sporty elegance to the vehicle.
The interior also features special Gemini badges in several areas such as B pillars and sills. A cooled compartment between the front seats, Click & Go media holders on the back seat, and three-zone climate control ensure exceptional comfort for all passengers.
Robust Power and Special Packages for Different Adventures
Both special editions come equipped with the powerful 3.0-liter Ingenium D350 diesel engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, generating an impressive 257 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.
Land Rover has also introduced three new optional packages to cater to different lifestyles: Beach Days, Road Trip, and Snow Days. Each package includes specific accessories that facilitate adventures and travels, such as roof racks for boards or kayaks, organizing compartments, snow traction systems, and coolers for long trips.
