According to G1, on Jornal Nacional, the Federal Government has created a new system to recover the gov.br account much faster, reducing bureaucracy for those who lose access after a theft or robbery of the device.

With the new system, the process is now done through a recovery email, allowing the person to access their services almost immediately, without depending on long deadlines.

For Victor Santos, general director of the security company Clavis, “having two-factor authentication makes the maximum possible security for gov.br” and is essential not only on the government platform but in any online account. The numbers show there is room for improvement: of the 177 million registrations on gov.br, only 60 million have two-step verification activated, according to the Ministry of Management and Innovation.
