Agriculture leads the expansion of jobs from January to July 2020, followed by the civil construction sector, which also saw an increase in jobs
According to studies carried out by the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) based on data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed People (Caged), released by the Ministry of Economy's Labor Secretariat, agriculture continues to lead the generation of new jobs in 2020. According to the survey, the sector was responsible for opening more than 86,2 jobs in the period from January to July alone.

In regional terms, the data show the highlights in the generation of job vacancies in agriculture in July this year for the states of São Paulo (+ 10.632 vacancies), Minas Gerais (+ 2.136 vacancies), Mato Grosso (+ 1.893) and Bahia ( + 1.692 vacancies).
Agriculture continued to lead the generation of new job openings in 2020 after being the only sector of economic activity to open vacancies in the first half of the year, with 62.663 thousand in the first six months.
In the month of July alone, this sector opened over 23 job openings. Among the main job generation segments in this period, we can mention: temporary crops, production of permanent crops, vegetables, cattle raising, planted forests, poultry farming and pig farming, among others.
The civil construction sector came in second place in the study, also presenting an increase in jobs, adding 8.742 thousand job openings between the months of January to July, that is, almost 10 times less than that obtained with agriculture and livestock. Agriculture consists of the set of primary activities, being directly associated with the cultivation of plants (agriculture) and the raising of animals (livestock) for human consumption or for the supply of raw materials in the manufacture of clothes, medicines, biofuels, beauty, among others.
