With The Million-Dollar Investment Made By The Automaker Ford, The Company Hopes To Deliver To Consumers The Best Ranger Pickup Of All Time
Ford, one of the world’s leading automakers, invested a significant US$ 660 million in its factory located in Pacheco, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, Argentina, aiming to produce the new generation of the Ford Ranger, its iconic mid-size pickup. With the implementation of improvements in technology, safety, and machinery, the company promises to deliver the best Ranger of all time to consumers, according to CanalTech.
The Pacheco factory was already considered modern, however, after the investments made, it has started to operate at an even more advanced level, preparing to welcome the new generation of the Ford Ranger pickup, which promises to be one of the most technological and complete ever produced.
Industry 4.0 And Connectivity
According to Ford, the new Pacheco plant is more connected and integrated, allowing the manufacturing processes of the Ford Ranger pickup to be almost fully automated, the main feature of Industry 4.0. Moreover, with the investments in technology, information about each unit assembled at the plant can be accessed in real time.

An example of this is that if a screw is incorrectly placed or any error occurs during assembly, all production line employees are notified immediately and the system itself performs the correction. Ford claims that the use of machine learning has made the production of the pickup increasingly smarter, with over a thousand cameras and sensors throughout the factory to assist in this process.
Despite the greater automation, Ford emphasizes that jobs at the plant were preserved and employees were trained to become an integral part of this process, safely and comprehensively. More than 40,000 hours of training have been investigated in this regard.
70% Increase In Ford Pickup Production
The Pacheco factory will be solely responsible for the production of the new Ranger, as it has been for some time. However, the investments and improvements implemented will allow not only the manufacturing of a more technological pickup but also a 70% increase in production. The factory’s capacity will be 110,000 pickups for South America, to be gradually reached after the launch of the new generation of the vehicle.
To achieve this level of production, Ford has implemented changes in the production processes of the pickup. As mentioned earlier, the factory is more automated and connected, as well as offering a more sustainable and pleasant environment, with greater brightness and controlled climate.
