The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) in partnership with MEC, has opened registrations for the free specialized training course for the Second Licentiate in Inclusive Special Education, according to Notice 19/2024, amended by Notice 20/2024. This course is part of the National Program for Training Basic Education Teachers (PARFOR) and offers 50 spots for public school teachers and other degree holders who wish to gain expertise in inclusive education, a valuable opportunity for those seeking specialization and career growth.
Course Objective and Workload
The main objective of the course is to train qualified professionals to act in Inclusive Special Education. Classes will be offered in person during the evenings, lasting a total of three academic semesters. Throughout the specialized training course, students will participate in theoretical classes, discussion forums, seminars, and assessments that prepare them for Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) and other inclusive pedagogical practices.
Available Spots and Offer Locations
In total, there are 50 spots, divided into two categories. 70% of the spots are designated for public school teachers who are already working in the field without proper training, and 30% for degree holders who may or may not be working in basic education. The specialized training course will be held at the Faculty of Education at UFJF, in Juiz de Fora.

Selection Processes
The selection is based on three main criteria: length of service in basic education, experience in Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE), and the time elapsed since obtaining the first degree. The process ensures a fair analysis for all candidates, respecting the quota system. Half of the spots are reserved for self-declared black, brown, Indigenous, quilombola individuals, or people with disabilities who have completed high school in public schools. This system aims to promote equity in access to the course.
Requirements for Enrollment in the Course
To enroll in the specialized training course for the Second Licentiate in Inclusive Special Education, it is necessary to hold a degree and be registered on the Freire Platform. Basic education teachers who are working without training in the area of inclusive education have priority in the selection process. Additionally, candidates must be available to attend the course in the evenings, and for success in the course, it is recommended to have access to resources such as a computer and internet, as some activities may require these means.
