Fiat Cronos 2026 Precision for R$ 121,980: Full-LED Headlights and Wireless Connection Arrive, But Only 4 Airbags, Small Screen and Without 360° Remain
The Fiat Cronos Precision 2026 was presented as the top-of-the-line version of the compact sedan, bringing news such as full-LED headlights, exterior facelift, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Despite the advancements, the model continues to face criticism for delivering only 4 airbags (exclusive to this version), not offering a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and maintaining a small multimedia screen. The suggested price is R$ 121,980 in Silverstone color.
According to an evaluation by Stanley Ravagnani, the sedan received improvements that enhance its perception of technology, but still leaves important gaps in safety and convenience — points that can weigh heavily in the purchasing decision against direct competitors.
What Changed in the Visual and Equipment Package

The facelift brought LED headlights, DRL, and LED fog lights, as well as a redesigned grille and a sturdier rear bumper. The wheels also received a new design. Internally, the digital one-zone air conditioning and wireless connectivity stand out.

Hyundai Staria Hybrid arrives as a “premium Kombi” hybrid with 7 or 9 seats, 1.6 turbo engine, 54 kW electric motor, spacious cabin, Relaxation seats, and a work van version with 3 or 6 seats in Europe.
The multimedia screen, however, remains approximately 7 inches — considered small by current standards. The instrument panel remains analog with a trip computer, and the steering wheel still lacks depth adjustment. The finish includes textured synthetic leather seats, which enhance comfort but do not significantly alter the perception of sophistication.
Safety: Limited Advances to One Version
The most criticized point is the distribution of airbags. While rivals offer up to 6 airbags even in mid-range versions, the Cronos only increments from 2 to 4 airbags in the Precision configuration — leaving other options at a disadvantage. Features such as 360° camera and front sensors, common in competing models, remain absent.
For a sedan costing over R$ 120 thousand, the lack of these items calls into question the cost-benefit of the Cronos against alternatives like the Volkswagen Virtus and Toyota Yaris Sedan, which already offer more complete safety packages in similar price ranges.
Performance and Consumption Remain the Same
Mechanically, the Fiat Cronos Precision 2026 retains the 1.3 Firefly engine (98 hp on gasoline and 107 hp on ethanol, with torque of 13.1/13.6 kgfm) paired with a CVT that simulates 7 gears. The consumption measured in tests was 12.6 km/l in the city and 14.6 km/l on the highway, competitive numbers for the category.
The trunk of 525 liters is one of the model’s strong points, even surpassing the Virtus (521 L). The front McPherson suspension and the rear torsion beam ensure stable behavior, even without extra sophistication compared to rivals.
Is It Worth It for the Price Charged?
Although the facelift and connectivity features enhance the model’s appeal, the Cronos Precision 2026 still fails to deliver differentiators that consumers already expect in vehicles above R$ 120 thousand. The limitation of airbags, absence of telescopic steering wheel, and small screen are points that compromise the balance between price and content.
In comparison to rivals, the Cronos offers a good trunk, efficient fuel consumption, and updated design, but still falls short in safety and onboard technology.
And you, do you believe that the Fiat Cronos Precision 2026 justifies the price charged even with these shortcomings? If you had R$ 121 thousand, would you choose it or opt for another sedan in the category? Leave your opinion in the comments.
