Expanding Microsoft’s Cloud Technology in Brazil
Microsoft announced that it is expanding its cloud infrastructure with a new datacenter region – Southeast Brazil based in Rio de Janeiro – which will provide customers with disaster recovery options within the country and scenario-based.
Additionally, to support cloud applications for mission-critical workloads with high availability, Microsoft will launch Azure availability zones in the existing region in Southern Brazil in 2021.
Availability zones are isolated failure locations within an Azure region, providing redundant power, cooling, and networking, supporting applications with higher availability and fault tolerance against datacenter failures.
