The Universal Expo Is a Huge Global Event That Brings Together More Than 190 Countries Periodically, Addressing Themes Such as Culture, Art, Technology, Innovation, Architectural Works, Design, and Human Excellence.
In order to explore the market of the United Arab Emirates, exchange experiences, and expand knowledge of best practices and new technologies for the improvement of port activities, the Port Authority of Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ) is participating in the “Brazil Export International Mission 2022.”

With the approval of the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra), the Director of Business and Sustainability of Rio’s Docks, Jean Paulo Castro e Silva, will represent the Port Authority, responsible for the administration of the ports of Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Niterói, and Angra dos Reis.
The delegation also consists of representatives from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq), the Port Authority of Ceará (CDC), the Port Authority of Pará (CDP), the Port Authority of Espírito Santo (Codesa), the Santos Port Authority (SPA), Ports of Paraná, DP World Santos, the Brazil Export Forum, the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), among other public and private institutions.

Investment Opportunities in Brazilian Ports in the United Arab Emirates
The Brazilian delegation’s agenda is extensive and includes technical seminars, guided tours of the Expo pavilions, business networking, and technical visits, among other activities. On the 14th, at 3:00 PM, for example, there was a meeting titled “Investment Opportunities in Brazilian Ports,” where Director Jean Paulo will be one of the speakers.
Another highlight, on the 17th, is the visit to the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), an industrial area surrounding the port of Jebel Ali. On the 18th, the delegation will take a knowledge tour of distribution centers and logistical solutions adopted in Dubai, as well as another tour of the green economy centers of the capital.

About Expo 2020 – The Universal Expo is a huge global event that brings together more than 190 countries periodically, addressing themes such as culture, art, technology, innovation, architectural works, design, and human excellence. The main objective is to enable dialogues and ideas to preserve the planet and shape a better future.
The event, organized by the Bureau International des Expositions, is taking place for the first time in the United Arab Emirates since October 1st and will continue until March 31, 2022. This edition was postponed by almost a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
