The São Paulo Institute of Cargo Transportation (IPTC) conducted a comparative analysis of the weeks from 06/08/2023 to 12/08/2023 and from 13/08/2023 to 19/08/2023, highlighting important indicators. According to the collected information, all Brazilian capitals analyzed experienced a price increase compared to the previous week. Some areas showed more significant variations, emphasizing the need for constant monitoring of diesel prices. Even small changes can have substantial effects on the operational costs of companies and on consumers’ daily lives.
The regions of Brazil demonstrated significant fluctuations. In the Midwest, Diesel S10 increased by 7.42% and Common Diesel by 6.61%. The Northeast saw an increase in Diesel S10 of 10.10% and in Common Diesel of 10.11%. In the North, the variations were 6.23% for S10 and 3.27% for Common. The Southeast region had increases in Diesel S10 of 3.77% and Common Diesel of 5.23%. In the South, S10 closed with an increase of 7.39%, while Common Diesel increased by 10.64%.

The overall average revealed an increase of 6.98% in Diesel S10 and 7.17% in Common Diesel. Ricardo Henrique, data analyst at the IPTC, stated that there was a change in the pattern of price variations for Diesel S10 and Common this week, resulting in a general increase. “This increase is directly related to the repercussions of the last significant increase in fuel prices announced by Petrobras. It is important to emphasize that, due to a lack of data, it was not possible to analyze the price variation in some capitals,” explained the analyst.
Looking individually at the capitals, Rio Branco showed the highest prices for Diesel S10, costing R$ 6.44, and Common Diesel at R$ 6.26. In contrast, Maceió registered the lowest prices, with Diesel S10 at R$ 5.11 and Common at R$ 5.09.
