App drivers and taxi drivers will be able to access a new line of credit created by the Federal Government to finance new vehicles with special conditions. The initiative is part of the Move Brasil – Taxi and Apps program, which will provide up to R$ 30 billion in credit for fleet renewal of professionals who use the vehicle as a work tool.
In addition to reduced interest rates, the program provides longer terms for payment and, in some cases, the possibility of financing without a down payment, depending on the analysis conducted by financial institutions accredited by BNDES.
Who can participate in the program
The Move Brasil is intended for two main categories:
- Taxi drivers with regular registration and active authorization to perform the activity;
- App drivers with an active registration for at least 12 months on the same platform and who have completed at least 100 rides in that period.
The government states that the measure seeks to expand access to credit for professionals who frequently encounter difficulties in obtaining financing under the conditions offered by the traditional market.

When the financing will be available
The program was announced by the federal government on May 19, 2026. Registration for interested parties takes place through the official Move Brasil platform, integrated with the Gov.br portal. After eligibility analysis, approved drivers can approach accredited banks to contract the financing. Credit operations were scheduled to start on June 19, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), the response on eligibility should arrive within five business days after registration.

Which vehicles can be financed
The program covers only brand new vehicles valued up to R$ 150,000. Additionally, the automobiles must be produced by manufacturers qualified in the Mover Program and meet sustainability criteria defined by the government.
Eligible models include:
- Flex-fuel vehicles;
- Cars powered exclusively by ethanol;
- Hybrid flex-fuel vehicles;
- Electric vehicles.
The proposal is part of the federal strategy to encourage fleet renewal and reduce pollutant emissions in passenger transport.
Financing without a down payment may be offered
One of the points that drew the most attention was the possibility of full vehicle financing. However, this condition will not be automatic for all participants.
The program provides for zero down payment operations in certain situations, but approval will depend on the credit analysis conducted by the bank responsible for the financing. Furthermore, each financial institution may set its own criteria for granting credit.
The program also has support from the FGI-PEAC, a guarantee fund managed by BNDES that can cover up to 80% of the risk of operations. The measure aims to facilitate credit approval for professionals who have difficulty providing traditional guarantees.
Women may have differentiated conditions
The Provisional Measure that created the Move Brasil authorizes more favorable conditions for women participating in the program.
Among the anticipated benefits are lower interest rates, longer payment terms, and the possibility of financing additional safety equipment for the vehicles. The final details depend on the program’s financial regulation.

How to register
The process occurs in stages:
- Access the official Move Brasil platform via Gov.br;
- Authorize the sharing of necessary information for analysis;
- Wait for the validation of requirements;
- Receive the response in the Gov.br mailbox;
- Look for an accredited financial institution after approval;
- Choose a vehicle within the program’s rules and apply for financing.
Program aims to renew the national fleet
The government estimates that the initiative could benefit more than one million professionals in individual passenger transport. In addition to facilitating access to credit, the proposal aims to put more modern, economical, and less polluting vehicles on the streets.
With the start of operations in June 2026, app drivers and taxi drivers will have a new alternative to change vehicles without relying solely on the traditional conditions offered by banks.
