Why Were These Locations Chosen?
The choice of sections for the installation of radars was not random.
According to EcoNoroeste, the points were defined based on studies that identified critical areas with higher rates of severe and fatal accidents.
The approval by Artesp and DER-SP ensured the technical and legal viability of the operation.
In addition, the radars are meant to educate drivers and prevent accidents, more than just generating fines.
However, the enforcement of penalties will be under the responsibility of DER-SP, which will also be responsible for processing records and collecting fines.
Actions Planned for the Future
The new radars represent just a part of the larger plan for modernization of the highways.
The concession contract of EcoNoroeste with the São Paulo government includes improvements in transportation infrastructure, such as duplications, constant maintenance, and enhancement of signage.
These actions aim to ensure a safer and more comfortable experience for users.
Safety on the roads is a priority, but drivers will also need to be more attentive and adjust their habits.
Impact on Drivers’ Routine
The news of the installation of new radars is already generating debates among drivers and experts.
While some argue that the measure is essential to save lives, others criticize what they consider an increase in punitive enforcement.
The data, however, is clear: reducing speed in critical areas can significantly decrease the number of fatal accidents.
It remains to be seen whether driver awareness will accompany the implementation of this new technology.
A New Era on São Paulo Highways
With the operation of these new radars, the promise is for a safer and more controlled traffic.
However, it is undeniable that the changes will require greater commitment from drivers to follow traffic rules. After all, road safety starts with responsible choices behind the wheel.
And you, what do you think of this new measure? Will the new radars truly improve safety or just generate more fines? Comment below!
