The third investment is a store from Coelho Diniz in the North Center, in an old area of the Bocas Brancas Samba School, which is expected to have its construction completed in at least 9 months. The land is currently being leveled, and when the company’s new supermarket opens, up to 300 direct job openings could be generated, according to Hiler Félix. The secretary also stated that the department and the government have been fully supporting the investors and estimate that these initiatives will boost the municipality’s economy in MG through job creation and income, especially after the pandemic.
Business Center in the Municipality of MG
The secretary also highlighted the project to install a Business Center in the Macuco neighborhood, on a site covering about 50 hectares, purchased in previous administrations, which could become an attraction for new investments. According to Félix, the area will be aimed at companies promoting greater sustainability, considering that it is a buffer region for the Rio Doce State Park, and could serve for the establishment of logistics distribution centers or other sectors that do not have environmental impact.
Another project to encourage new investments in the municipality is the publication of a bid for the construction of a ring road to connect MG-760, in the Cava Grande district, to BR-381, passing through the neighborhoods of Macuco, Licuri, Alphaville, and Timóteo, improving the flow of the industrial district in the Limoeiro neighborhood.
