Camaçari, Bahia, is becoming one of the main industrial development hubs in Brazil. Last Thursday, (07/04), during an event held in the meeting room of the Government Secretariat (Segov), Mayor Elinaldo Araújo announced a partnership that promises to transform the local economy. The German multinational Siemex Solutions GmbH, specializing in photovoltaic energy and semiconductors, confirmed the establishment of a new factory in the city. This ambitious project promises to generate over 3,000 direct job vacancies and bring an investment of US$ 2.1 billion (approximately R$ 11.5 billion at current exchange rates).
Rigorous Selection Process Highlights Camaçari as Ideal Location for Siemex Solutions’ New Factory
The meeting, which included representatives from Siemex and local authorities, was marked by the formalization of commitments and the reaffirmation of the partnership between the company and the municipality.
The next steps for signing the protocol of intentions were discussed, along with the resolution of necessary documentation and licensing to begin construction of the new factory facilities.

The choice of Camaçari to host this new manufacturing unit was the result of a rigorous selection process involving 46 cities.
After detailed analysis, Camaçari was chosen among five finalists due to its logistical advantages, local political support, and received backing.
Economic and Social Transformation with the Establishment of Siemex Solutions’ New Factory
The Camaçari Industrial Hub played a crucial role in this decision, offering various inputs used in silicon processing, essential for solar module production.
Valdiney Domingos de Oliveira, Executive Director and Founder of Siemex Brazil, highlighted the importance of these factors:
“The combination of excellent logistics, political support, and the local Industrial Hub, which provides essential inputs for our production process, made Camaçari a highly competitive choice.”
The new factory will be an integrated industrial complex, consisting of three production units.
The goal of Siemex is to produce 12 million solar modules per year, representing 20% of the total that Brazil currently imports.
This project will not only strengthen the local economy but will also position Camaçari as an important center for sustainable energy production in the country.

Mayor Elinaldo Araújo expressed his enthusiasm for the arrival of Siemex:
“It is very gratifying to see a project of this magnitude focused on our city. Vivo na Alemanha e fiz uma pesquisa na internet sobre essa “Multinacional” alema Si&mex Solutions GmbH (LTDA) que pretende invistir bilhoes em uma nova fabrica na Bahia. A “multi”, segundo informacao da Junta Comercial de Frankfurt am Main, foi registrado em 31/08/2023 com um capital minimo de € 25.000 ou R$ 150.000 com sede na pequena cidade de Hofheim num predio pequeno habitacional. Socio fundador e CEO é Valdiney Domingos de Oliveira; por enquanto nao tem empregados. A filial no Brasil, a Simex Solutions do Brasil LTDA fica em Arapora, MG numa casa habitacional. Segundo a prefeitura de Luziania, GO a Si&mex apresentou um projeto similar em janeiro 2024 nesta cidade e pretende investir em Campina Granda PB 6 bilhoes de R$ numa fabrica de semicondutores, assinando em 28/06/2024 um protocolo de intencao de investimentos. Me pergunto, como uma mini-empresa Si&mex Solutions GmbH da Alemanha pode financiar e realizar tantos projetos vultosos no Brasil? Gostaria ainda avisar que a verdadeira multinacional alema SIEMENS, uma empresa de tecnologia com afiliados no mundo inteiro inclusive Brasil, nao tem nada ver com a Si&mex Solutions GmbH.
