Choice to Install the Chemical Enterprise in Santa Catarina
According to Sônia, one of the main reasons for choosing the city of Garuva in Santa Catarina was its strategic location, which is close to two important ports: Itapoá, a city that borders Garuva, and São Francisco do Sul, on the North Coast.
The new industry of Química Carioca, in Garuva, was one of the projects approved by the Santa Catarina Company Development Program (Prodec) at the end of April 2021. Prodec is coordinated by the State Secretariat for Sustainable Economic Development (SDE). The Química Carioca project was evaluated by the Prodec Technical Committee and received the green light to begin projects and then construction.
From 2019 to 2021, the Prodec Program, which grants incentives to expansion and enhancement projects estimated to generate jobs and income with an increase in the use of technology and innovation in Santa Catarina, has already accounted for R$ 4.1 billion in investments and 3,872 new direct job openings.
