The 1.5 TwinPower Engine Is Now More Powerful, Generating 156 Hp and 23.4 Kgfm
Produced in Brazil, the new generation of the BMW X1 debuts with new engines. Now, the sDrive20i versions come with a 2.0 TwinPower engine (a turbo with double scroll) delivering 204 hp and 30.6 kgfm, an increase of 12 hp and 2 kgfm. The new version will have a 1.5 turbo engine that equips the BMW 118i and has previously equipped the X2. The engine is not as powerful, but it allows the vehicle to cost R$ 32,000 less.
The new vehicle is called the BMW X1 sDrive18i GP, starting at R$ 296,950 (about R$ 8,000 more expensive than the old sDrive20i GP). Its three cylinders 1.5 TwinPower are now more powerful, generating 156 hp and 23.4 kgfm, with the same seven-speed automatic transmission as the more powerful versions.
Impressive Numbers from the New BMW X1
Keeping the public curious, BMW has only released the performance figures for the 2.0 versions so far. The vehicles can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 s, with a top speed of 236 km/h. Meanwhile, this version has averaged 10.7 km/l in the city and 13 km/l on the highway, while the version with the 1.5 turbo engine achieves 11.4 km/l and 13.5 km/l, according to Inmetro. It is worth noting that these figures refer to the cars’ autonomy using gasoline, as neither of the two engines is flex like the old 2.0 turbo.
