Used By Soviet Secret Agents, The Rare Volga GAZ-2410 With V8 Engine And Luxurious Interior Reappears In Excellent Condition For R$ 330 Thousand

A rare car from the Soviet era has just reappeared on the collector’s market. This is a modified Volga GAZ-2410, originally produced to serve the secret services of the former Soviet Union.

The vehicle was announced on the Russian website Avto.ru for 5.5 million rubles, equivalent to about R$ 330 thousand.

The model for sale was manufactured in 1991. It has driven approximately 50,000 kilometers and is in preserved condition, with various original elements still present on the body.

Among them, special hubcaps, modified turn signals, and black paint stand out, reminiscent of the escort and security missions carried out during the Soviet period.

Despite its discreet exterior appearance, the car holds unique features. The common model of the Volga GAZ-2410 came with a four-cylinder engine.

However, this special version features a 5.5-liter V8 engine, generating 195 horsepower. The engine and three-speed automatic transmission were inherited from the luxury sedan Chaika, which was reserved for the Soviet elite.

The modifications made by engineers were also designed to maintain the original appearance. The gear lever looks like it’s from a manual car, and there are three pedals — two of which are for braking.

This disguise was important for keeping the vehicle low-key during confidential operations. In total, only 244 units with these modifications were produced.

Inside, the car is also impressive. The interior is covered in red fabric and leather, following the luxury standard of the time. The finish reinforces the use of the car by high-ranking agents and Soviet authorities.

The version known as GAZ-24-34 also received improvements in the suspension, including reinforced springs, a thicker stabilizer bar, and power steering.

These changes ensured greater stability at high speeds.

This is not the first example of the model to be put up for sale. Another GAZ-24-34, in gray and restored, was sold for 5.9 million rubles, around R$ 350 thousand.

The appreciation of these cars shows how vehicles with history and unique parts continue to capture the interest of collectors.
