Volkswagen Develops Its Largest Electric Truck in Brazil and Starts Engine Testing
Volkswagen Trucks and Buses will launch a new electric model, which was produced entirely in Brazil. This week, the company announced the start of testing for the new electric truck, the e-Delivery 17, which will be circulating on the streets of São Paulo in the coming days. The giant will have the capacity to transport 17.3 tons, about 3 tons more than the e-Delivery 14 model, due to its optimized engineering design.
Technical Information About Volkswagen’s e-Delivery 17
According to Garagem360, the e-Delivery 17 retains the dimensions to operate in restricted circulation zones as a city freight vehicle (VUC), despite being the largest electric truck from Volkswagen. Additionally, the electric model comes with a front axle with a higher load capacity, reinforced chassis and suspension, 6×2 configuration, lower loading platform to facilitate loading and unloading, and full air suspension for greater comfort, with dual wheels on both rear axles.
The truck has a new battery configuration, with four packs or six packs, achieving a range of up to 180 kilometers. Moreover, it incorporates the usual intelligence of Volkswagen Trucks and Buses electric models, with systems that generate greater energy efficiency and maximum safety on board. The new e-Delivery will be capable of participating in operations that require high load density in compact urban vehicles and the distribution of beverages with up to eight pallets.
