In a speech, Renata said: “The SDI is focused on sustainability, innovation, competitiveness, the addition of value to production chains, but with a focus on the territory with its peculiarities and autonomy. This Secretariat holds the responsibility to modernize and harmonize our production system concerning the quality of life of the Brazilian population and the world.”
As mandated by the decree, the Secretariat will be responsible for formulating public policies for Innovation and rural development that are based on innovative and sustainable agricultural practices. The objective is to promote integrations with other public policies.

In this way, the SDI will continue to seek to increase sustainable agricultural production, which will lead to the implementation of plans, actions, programs, and activities. One of the objectives is also the recovery of degraded areas, and the Union will promote the development and dissemination of sustainable technology; according to Renata, modernization and harmonization are part of a transformation into a more sustainable production system.
