The monumental Bioceanic Bridge has reached 60% completion, promising to revolutionize the connection between South American countries.
The Bioceanic Bridge is considered one of the largest and most important works of the Bioceanic route. With a total length of 1,294 meters, it will connect the cities of Porto Murtinho in Mato Grosso do Sul and Carmelo Peralta in Paraguay. This colossal structure will enable direct connections between Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile, reducing distances by up to 8,000 km and cutting travel time by up to 15 days for exports bound for the Asian market.
On the Brazilian Side, the Works of the Largest Bridge Between Brazil and Paraguay Do Not Stop
On the Brazilian side, the works are progressing rapidly. The installation of the prestressed beams, which come from Paraguay and travel a long distance to the construction site, has already begun. Additionally, the precast slabs are being installed, forming the base of the bridge deck, which will later receive the concrete. The mast, a fundamental structure that will support the steel cables of the cable-stayed section, is also showing significant progress.

On the Paraguayan side, progress is even more remarkable. The masts are already in the final phase of execution, close to the top where the stays will be fixed. The bridge will feature a central span of 630 meters built using the cable-stayed bridge method, which requires precision and balance in the installation of the segments and steel cables.
Bioceanic Route Works Are Not Limited
The works of the Bioceanic route are not limited to the bridge. On the Paraguayan side, the construction of Picada 500 is underway, connecting Mariscal Estigarribia to Pozo Hondo at the border with Argentina. This stage faces challenges due to the terrain conditions, requiring special treatments for the execution of the base and asphalt.
Meanwhile, the accesses to the bridge are about to begin. Set to start soon, the access works will include the construction of a ring road connecting BR-267 to the new bridge, bypassing the city of Porto Murtinho. With an investment of over R$ 472 million from the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), this stage will also include the installation of customs control posts.

Eu já fui de carro até o Vinhas del Mar no Oceano Pacifico várias vezes e sei que a distância é de 4.000 km entre Sao Paulo e Chile.
A gente dá muita volta pra chegar lá, passando por Uruguaiana e cruzando todo o territorio argentino desde Passo de Los Libres até a Cidade de Mendoza que já fica próxima
da fronteira com e Chile e finalmente cruzando os Andes alcançar Santiago. O litoral do Pacífico fica a 100km de Santiago. É muita volta.
Esta estrada deve encurtar muito esta distância. Quem sabe até uns 600 km.
