Ternium And Tenaris Open Doors For Young Students With Academic Excellence
Ternium and Tenaris are launching the 6th edition of the Roberto Rocca Scholarship Program, aimed at rewarding 306 high school and college students with exemplary academic performance. This year, the beneficiaries will receive scholarships of R$ 2,5 thousand for high school/technical students and R$ 9 thousand for university students, as well as a certificate of excellence. The award, directed at students from Santa Cruz, Itaguaí, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, and Rio das Ostras, seeks to encourage and recognize the effort and dedication of young people in the pursuit of knowledge.
A Door To The Future
Among the awardees in the previous edition is Débora Campos, a 9th period Chemical Engineering student at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). For her, the program was a milestone, allowing not only the recognition of her dedication but also opening pathways for her professional career. Débora, who also participated in Ternium’s mentoring program and secured an internship at the company, emphasizes the importance of never stopping dreaming and pursuing one’s goals.
Since its inception in 2019, the Roberto Rocca Scholarship Program has awarded over 880 students, reaffirming the companies’ commitment to education and social development. According to Fernanda Candeias, director of the Ternium Institute, investment in education is crucial for the growth of the region and the country, highlighting the pride in seeing young people striving for academic excellence.
