The State Secretary of Education of Minas Gerais (SEE/MG), in partnership with the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southern Minas Gerais (IFSULDEMINAS) – Pouso Alegre Campus, announces the opening of approximately 7,000 vacancies in free technical courses. Aimed at young people and adults, these courses are part of the Youth and Adult Education Integrated with Professional Education (EJA-EPT) program. The initiative offers a unique opportunity for those who wish to complete high school while acquiring technical training, being an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth, according to the Varginha Digital website.
Who Can Participate in the Free Course Offer?
The free courses from the IF of Minas Gerais are open to individuals over 18 years old who are interested in completing high school in the EJA format, together with a professional qualification. Those who have already started high school in EJA and not completed it, as well as individuals who have finished elementary school and want to continue their studies with a professional qualification, can register.

According to Rosely Lima, Superintendent of Educational Policies at SEE/MG, “Training is extremely important. We want to qualify all students seeking Youth and Adult Education to graduate.” Enrollment can be done directly at the participating schools until August 12.

The free courses offered will be held in 38 schools, distributed across 35 municipalities in the Regional Superintendencies of Education of Barbacena, Campo Belo, Caxambu, Itajubá, Juiz de Fora, Manhuaçu, Passos, Poços de Caldas, São Sebastião do Paraíso, and Varginha. The available free courses include:
- Soil Laboratory Technician
- Water and Effluent Treatment Operator
- Structural Mason
- Welder of Structures and Piping in the MIG/MAG Process
- Low Voltage Building Electrician
- Electronic Security Systems Installer
- Refrigeration and Industrial Air Conditioning Mechanic

In addition to EJA-EPT, SEE/MG is also accepting enrollments for Basic Education in the Youth and Adult Education format, available in 1,369 state schools, covering 577 municipalities. This initiative aims to expand access to education for those who wish to return to their studies and complete basic education.
