The Municipal Secretary of Science and Technology (SMCT) is accepting registrations for 3,000 vacancies in free courses and workshops focused on technology and entrepreneurship, offered by the Carioca Navezinhas. These 25 units, distributed across various peripheral regions of Rio de Janeiro, aim to train young people and adults in digital skills and prepare participants for the job market. The free courses cover various technological and digital tools, democratizing knowledge and providing new opportunities for audiences of different profiles.

The Carioca Navezinhas were implemented in areas of high social vulnerability, seeking to promote inclusion and access to modern technologies. These innovative spaces aim not only for digital training but also for the social and economic inclusion of residents in peripheral regions, where technological knowledge can open doors to jobs and improvements in living conditions.

According to Thereza Paiva, Secretary of Science and Technology, the initiative expands the reach of the Knowledge Naves, offering digital inclusion and modern learning methods for the population living far from the major centers.

Operation and Resources of the Carioca Navezinhas

The 25 units of the Carioca Navezinhas operate from Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and are equipped with laptops, audiovisual resources, and free internet access to ensure a quality education. The spaces also have a support team ready to assist users, promoting a complete and accessible learning experience.

Since the launch of the first unit in March, the Navezinhas have already issued 3,758 certificates to students who completed free courses in the offered areas, demonstrating the positive impact of the initiative.

For students like Rafaela Neves, 24, a Publicity student, the Carioca Navezinha represents a transformative chance. She emphasizes that the audiovisual course was essential in enhancing her skills in the advertising field, allowing her to create professional videos using only her phone.

Rafaela, who studied at the Rio das Pedras unit, secured two internships after showcasing her productions in interviews, proving the effectiveness and uniqueness of this practical training tailored to the current market needs.

Diversity of Free Courses and Workshops Offered

The free courses and workshops at the Carioca Navezinhas include various options for different interests, such as Introduction to Excel, Basic IT, Introduction to ChatGPT, Photography, Robotics, Game Development, Microsoft Word, PC Assembly, Social Media Video Production, and Resume Creation, among others.

This diversity of topics aims to equip participants for various technological fields, expanding their job market opportunities and enabling adaptation to new demands.

Neemias Christensen, 18, a graduate in Telecommunications, found in the Carioca Navezinhas the necessary support to approach his career goal in IT. A student at the Pedra de Guaratiba unit, Neemias reinforces the importance of the Navezinhas in more distant regions, where the offering of technology courses is limited.

For him, access to these trainings makes it possible to achieve the dream of entering a profession in the technology field, something previously seen as distant.
