The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) has confirmed the payment schedule for BPC/LOAS for August, providing financial relief for the elderly and people with disabilities across the country.
The benefit guarantees a minimum wage per month and starts to be released from August 25, following the order of the last number on the beneficiary’s card.
This measure is essential to ensure the subsistence of those without their own sources of income.

What Is BPC/LOAS and Who Can Receive It?
The Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC/LOAS) is an assistance program from the Federal Government that serves two groups: elderly people aged 65 or older and people with disabilities of any age who face barriers to full participation in society.
To be eligible for payment, it is necessary to prove a family income per capita lower than 1/4 of the minimum wage, which currently corresponds to R$ 353.00.
Furthermore, it is important to highlight that the benefit is not accumulable with other Social Security benefits, except for death pension and accident aid.
Currently, the value of the benefit is R$ 1,518.00 per month.
Although managed by INSS, BPC/LOAS does not require social security contributions and, unlike retirement, does not include a 13th salary.
How Does BPC/LOAS Payment Work?
The payment is made through a magnetic card issued by INSS.
With it, the beneficiary can withdraw the amount directly from the designated bank. To clarify doubts, there are three main service channels:
- Website and App Meu INSS
- Phone Center 135
- In-person Service at INSS Agencies
This structure facilitates access to information and ensures greater transparency in the benefit release process.

Moreover, the benefit promotes inclusion and citizenship, as it allows access to basic rights such as food, health, and housing.
