When rescued, Napa Castro revealed that during the most difficult moments of the shipwreck, he constantly thought of his family, especially his mother and granddaughter, which gave him the strength to keep fighting for life.

The news of the rescue moved his daughter, Inés Napa Torres, who publicly thanked the Ecuadorian fishermen.
