With the new measure, Petrobras can identify people without any symptoms, but with the presence of antibodies that may indicate the virus in an active stage and the possibility of contagion, preventing the spread within its units.
“Based on the result, these employees cannot access operational areas, are advised to isolate, and are monitored by health teams.” Petrobras reported.
The screening tests encompass employees of contracted companies who show symptoms, a measure that Petrobras was one of the first companies to adopt on a large scale.
According to Petrobras, over 6 thousand tests have been conducted to diagnose people with symptoms. With screening tests and diagnostic tests, Petrobras has already covered about 18% of the universe of approximately 150 thousand people working in its units, whether employees or workers from service providers.
In comparison to countries that adopted mass testing, the company tested proportionally three times more than the USA and nearly double that of Portugal.
