High-Quality Oil Discovery by Petrobras in the Pre-Salt of Santos Basin Reinforces the Potential of the Asset, Where the State Company is the Operator with 90%

The Brazilian oil company Petrobras announced on the afternoon of this day (12/22) in a relevant report that it confirmed the presence of high-quality oil with the drilling of well 9-BUZ-48D-RJS, located in the far northwest of the Búzios field in the Santos Basin. According to the report, the well is located 188 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro and was drilled at a water depth of 1,850 meters. Tests conducted at a depth of 5,540 meters confirmed the presence of high-quality oil reservoirs.

Petrobras is the operator (90%) of the consortium in the Búzios field, in partnership with CNOOC (5%) and CNODC (5%).
