Cláudio Schlosser leaves Petrobras’ Logistics and Commercialization board after LPG auction generated premiums of up to 117% amid oil crisis
Petrobras’ Board of Directors approved the early termination of Cláudio Schlosser’s term as executive director of Logistics, Commercialization, and Market, according to Agência iNFRA.
The announcement was made on April 6, 2026.
The departure occurred after strong negative repercussions from the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) auction held by the state-owned company.

The controversial auction
Petrobras held an auction for 70,000 tons of LPG which generated premiums of up to 117% over the reference price.
The result caused public outrage and a reaction from President Lula, who classified the procedure as problematic.
The auction took place amid the oil crisis caused by the conflict between the US/Israel and Iran, with Brent above US$100 per barrel.
The high premium practically meant that cooking gas would become even more expensive for the final consumer.
Who takes over
Angélica Laureano, who held the directorship of Energy Transition and Sustainability, was transferred to assume Schlosser’s position.
William França, director of Industrial Processes, temporarily assumes the directorship previously held by Laureano.
Additionally, Marcelo Weick Pogliese was elected chairman of the Board of Directors.
Guilherme Santos Mello, from the Ministry of Finance, was nominated as a board member and potential candidate for the board’s presidency.
Context: political pressure on Petrobras
Schlosser’s departure highlights the political pressure on Petrobras at a time of rising fuel prices.
The government has already issued three provisional measures since March to contain the price impact: subsidies for imported diesel, domestic diesel, and cooking gas.
ANP even declared a state of alert for national fuel supply and notified Petrobras to offer more diesel and gasoline.
The change in the Commercialization board signals that the government will not tolerate operations that pressure consumer prices as long as the crisis in the Middle East persists.
