The forecast is that the Amaralina Star will enter into operation for Petrobras in early 2020 under an exclusive dedication regime in the BM-S-11 project

Petrobras and Constellation finalized negotiations for the charter of the Amaralina Star, a drillship that will be operated for a period of two years by the Brazilian state-owned company. After a request for judicial recovery and making the best proposal in the bidding, Constellation was finally able to secure the long-term agreement with Petrobras.

The forecast is that the Amaralina Star will enter into operation in early 2020. The drillship has a capacity of 2,4 m and will operate under the regime of exclusive dedication in the BM-S-11 project, an asset located in the cluster of Santos Basin and operated under the consortium regime.

The BM-S-11 is operated by the consortium formed by Petrobras (65%), Shell (25%) and Petrogal (10%), and the dispute had Transocean/Ocean Rig offering the drillship Ocean Rig Apolo. Until May 2018, two Ocean Rig rigs operated in the field, Ocean Mykonos and Ocean Corcovado, which resulted in the discovery of Lula and other fields in the region, such as Iracema, Berbigão, Sururu and Atapu.

The contract between the two companies for chartering the Amaralina Star will be signed in December and the value of the deal will be based on the daily rates presented in recent Petrobras tenders for the pool and BM-S-11.

Are preparing to put into operation for the Petrobras, in addition to the Amaralina Star, three drilling semi-submersibles (the Gold Star, Alpha, Star and Lone) that obtained the best daily rates in the auction. The forecast for the beginning of activity of the rigs is to occur between December and January.
